ଫିଟ୍‌ ରହିବାକୁ କିଏ ବା ନ ଚାହେଁ। କିନ୍ତୁ କେବଳ ଜିମ୍‌ ଏବଂ ବ୍ୟାୟାମ କରିବା ଦ୍ୱାରା ଆମେ ଫିଟ୍‌ ରହିପାରିବା ବୋଲି ଭାବିଥାଉ। କିନ୍ତୁ ଆପଣ ଏହା ମଧ୍ୟ ଜାଣି ଥିବେ ସାଇକେଲ ଚଳାଇବା ମଧ୍ୟ ଏକ ପ୍ରକାର ବ୍ୟାୟାମ।

ଆଜିକାଲି ଲୋକେ ସାଇକେଲ ଚଳାଇବାକୁ ଲାଜ କରୁଛନ୍ତି। କିନ୍ତୁ ଏହା କେବଳ ଏକ ମାନସିକତା ମାତ୍ର। ଆପଣମାନେ ଜାଣିଛନ୍ତି କି ବାହାର ଦେଶର ଲୋକମାନେ ବାଇକ୍‌ ଅପେକ୍ଷା ସାଇକେଲ ଚଳାଇବାକୁ ପସନ୍ଦ କରନ୍ତି।ଆହୁରି ମଧ୍ୟ ସାଇକେଲ ଚଳାଇବା ଦ୍ୱାରା ପେଟ୍ରୋଲ ଖର୍ଚ୍ଚ ବଞ୍ଚିବା ସହ ପରିବେଶ ମଧ୍ୟ ପ୍ରଦୂଷିତ ହୋଇନଥାଏ।

ତେବେ ପଢ଼ନ୍ତୁ ସାଇକେଲ ଚଳାଇବା ଦ୍ୱାରା କଣ ସବୁ ଫାଇଦା ହୋଇଥାଏ।

୧. ସାଇକେଲ ଚଳାଇବା ଦ୍ୱାରା କ୍ୟାନ୍ସର ଭଳି ଗମ୍ଭୀର ରୋଗ ହେବାର ସମ୍ଭାବନା କମ୍‌ ହୋଇଥାଏ। ଏଥିପାଇଁ  ପ୍ରତିଦିନ ସାଇକେଲ ଚଳାଇବା ଆବଶ୍ୟକ। ୟୁନିଭର୍ସିଟି ଅଫ୍‌ ଗ୍ଲାସ୍‌ଗୋ ପକ୍ଷରୁ ହୋଇଥିବା ଏକ ସର୍ବେକ୍ଷଣରୁ ଜଣାଯାଇଛି ଯେ, ସାଇକେଲ ଚାଳକର କ୍ୟାନ୍ସର ହେବା ଆଶଙ୍କା ୪୫ ପ୍ରତିଶତ ଓ ହୃଦୟ ଜନିତ ରୋଗ ହେବାର ଆଶଙ୍କା ୪୬ ପ୍ରତିଶତ ହ୍ରାସପାଏ।

ଏମ୍‌ଡି ଆଣ୍ଡରସନ୍‌ କ୍ୟାନ୍‌ସର ପ୍ରିଭେନ୍‌ସନ୍‌ ସେଣ୍ଟର ପକ୍ଷରୁ କୁହାଯାଇଛି ଯେ, ଦିନକୁ ଅତି କମ୍‌ରେ ୭୫ ମିନିଟ୍‌ କଠିନ ବ୍ୟାୟାମ କିମ୍ବା ୧୫୦ ମିନିଟ୍‌ ହାଲୁକା ବ୍ୟାୟାମ କଲେ କ୍ୟାନ୍ସର ଆଶଙ୍କା କମିଯାଏ। ସାଇକ୍ଲିଂ ଦ୍ୱାରା ଦୈନିକ ଏତିକି ସମୟର ବ୍ୟାୟାମ ଅତି ସହଜରେ କରିହେବ।

ଯଦି ପ୍ରତେକ ବ୍ୟକ୍ତି ସାଇକେଲ୍‌ ଚଳାଇବେ ତାହାଲେ ପ୍ରତି ବର୍ଷ ହେଉଥିବା ହାର୍ଟ ଆଟାକ୍‌ ସଂଖ୍ୟା ଅଧା କମିଯିବ ବୋଲି ଅନ୍ୟ ଏକ ସ୍ୱାସ୍ଥ୍ୟ ସର୍ବେକ୍ଷଣରୁ କୁହାଯାଇଛି।

୨.ସାଇକେଲ ଚଳାଇବା ଦ୍ୱାରା ଆମ ଦେହରେ ରକ୍ତ ସଞ୍ଚାଳନ ଦ୍ରୁତ ହୋଇଥାଏ ଓ ଚର୍ମର କୋଷଗୁଡ଼ିକୁ ଅଧିକ ମାତ୍ରାରେ ପୋଷକତତ୍ତ୍ୱ ଏବଂ ଅକ୍ସିଜେନ୍‌ ମିଳିଥାଏ।

୩.ସବୁବେଳେ ସାଇକେଲ ଚଳାଇବା ଦ୍ୱାରା ଖାଦ୍ୟ ଶୀଘ୍ର ହଜମ ହୋଇଥାଏ। ପାଚନ ତନ୍ତ୍ର ଠିକ ଭାବେ କାମ କରିଥାଏ।

୫. ଲଣ୍ଡନ St. George’s Hospital ର ଜଣେ ଚିଫ୍‌ ଡାଏଟିସିଆନ୍‌ଙ୍କ ମତରେ ଯେଉଁ ବ୍ୟକ୍ତି ପ୍ରତି ସପ୍ତାହରେ ୫ ଦିନ ୨୦ ମିନିଟ୍‌ ସାଇକେଲ ଚଳାଇ ଥାଏ ସେ ସବୁବେଳେ ସୁସ୍ଥ ରହିଥାଏ।

୬.ଆପଣଙ୍କୁ ଯଦି ରାତିରେ ନିଦ ହେଉନାହିଁ ତାହାଲେ ପ୍ରତିଦିନ ପ୍ରାୟ ୨୦ରୁ ୩୦ ମିନିଟ୍‌ ସାଇକେଲ ଚଳାନ୍ତୁ। ଦେଖିବେ ଶୀଘ୍ର ନିଦ ଆସିଯିବ।

୭. ସାଇକେଲ ଚଳାଇବା ଭଳି ସାମାନ୍ୟ ଏକ୍ସରସାଇଜ୍‌ କରିବା ଦ୍ୱାରା ଆମ ଶରୀରର ଅଙ୍ଗ ସଠିକ ଭାବେ ଚଳପ୍ରଚଳ କରିଥାଏ। ବିଶେଷ କରି ଗଣ୍ଠିଜନିତ ରୋଗ ଆଦୌ ହୁଏ ନାହିଁ ଓ ମାଂସପେଶୀ ସକ୍ରିୟ, ଦୃଢ଼ ଓ ମଜଭୁତ ରହିଥାଏ।

୮. ନିୟମିତ ସାଇକେଲ ଚଳାଇବା ଦ୍ୱାରା ଆପଣ କମ୍‌ ବୟସରେ ବୃଦ୍ଧଙ୍କ ଭଳି ଦେଖାଯିବା ସମସ୍ୟାରୁ ମୁକ୍ତି ପାଇପାରିବେ। ସାଇକେଲ ଚଳାଇଲେ ସୌର ବିକିରଣର ଖରାପ ପ୍ରଭାବରୁ ଚର୍ମକୁ ରକ୍ଷା କରାଯାଇପାରିବ। ତେବେ ଟାଣ ଖରାରେ ଯଦି ଆପଣ ସାଇକେଲ ଚଳାଇବାକୁ ବାଧ୍ୟ ହେଉଛନ୍ତି ତେବେ ସନ୍‌ସ୍କ୍ରିନ୍‌ ଲୋସନ୍‌ ବ୍ୟବହାର କରନ୍ତୁ।

୯.ଆମେ ଘରେ ଯେତେ ପରିମାଣର ଅକ୍ସିଜେନ ନେଇଥାଉ, ତା’ଠାରୁ ଅଧିକା ପରିମାଣର ଅକ୍ସିଜେନ ଆମକୁ ସାଇକେଲ ଚଳାଇବା ବେଳେ ମିଳିଥାଏ। ତେଣୁ ସକାଳ ସମୟରେ ସାଇକେଲ ଚଳାଇବା ଅତ୍ୟନ୍ତ ସ୍ୱାସ୍ଥ୍ୟପ୍ରଦ। ସକାଳୁ ସାଇକେଲ୍ ଚଳାଇବା ଅଭ୍ୟାସ କରନ୍ତୁ ଓ ସୁନ୍ଦର ସକାଳର ମଜା ନେଇ ମନକୁ ପ୍ରଫୁଲ୍ଲ ରଖନ୍ତୁ।

ଗାଡ଼ି ଚଳାଇଲେ ପରିବେଶ ପ୍ରଦୂଷିତ ହେବା ସହ ବେଳେ ବେଳେ ଗାଡ଼ି ଧୂଆଁରେ ଚାଳକ ଅସୁସ୍ଥ ହୁଅନ୍ତି। ଗାଡ଼ି ଧୂଆଁରେ ଅନେକ କ୍ଷତିକାରକ ତତ୍ତ୍ୱ ରହିଛି। କିନ୍ତୁ ସାଇକେଲ ଚଳାଇବା ଦ୍ୱାରା ପରିବେଶକୁ କୌଣସି କ୍ଷତି ପହଞ୍ଚିନଥାଏ କି ଚାଳକ ଉପରେ କୌଣସି ଖରାପ ପ୍ରଭାବ ପଡ଼ି ନ ଥାଏ।

୧୦.ଆପଣ ଯଦି କମ୍‌ ଦିନରେ ଓଜନ କମାଇବାକୁ ଚାହୁଛନ୍ତି। ତାହାଲେ ପ୍ରତିଦିନ ସାଇକେଲ ଚଲାନ୍ତୁ। ଏହା ଦ୍ୱାରା ଶରୀରରେ ଥିବା ଚର୍ବି କମିଥାଏ। ଆଉ ଆପଣ ପ୍ରତିଦିନ ସାଇକେଲ ଚଳାଇବା ଦ୍ୱାରା ଫିଟ୍‌ ମଧ୍ୟ ରହିପାରିବେ।
